Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez has put his disqualfication down to confusion over which lap he was supposed to pit in during today's Phillip Island MotoGP race - an error that sees title tival Jorge Lorenzo back in the championship hunt.
After another set of instructions were handed out by race control this morning, the race was cut again to 19 laps and riders had to pit in for a bike change by the end of lap ten.
Marquez came in one lap too late and was consequently black flagged, handing Lorenzo the lead and 25 points to make the difference just 18 with 50 left on the table.
"The communication with the pitboard was good, it was in our plan. Our plan was not the best one as we thought, with the team, that it was possible to make that lap. It was a big confusion. The communication with the board was perfect," said Marquez, speaking at Phillip Island.
