Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner was, predictably, quickest on the final day's testing at Qatar but, unpredictably, it wasn't Valentino Rossi in second place, but his Fiat Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.
Lorenzo appears to have finally got to grips with the new Bridgestone tyres as he was complaining yesterday about not having any confidence in them on the brakes.
The Spaniard was more than a second slower than Stoner with The Doctor nearly two tenths further adrift. Rizla Suzuki's Chris Vermeulen, who set his best lap on his last of 70, with Stoner's team-mate Nicky Hayden rounding out the top.
Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa flew home this morning to and will undergo surgery on his wrist after yesterday's turn-10 high-side (click here for story).
