Marc Marquez has said that Valentino Rossi was out of control in today’s Sepang MotoGP and believes he kicked the Spaniard’s Repsol Honda and caught his front brake lever, causing the lap seven crash which ended the Spaniard’s race.
Marquez scored no points as he wasn’t able to continue but Rossi kept his third-place finish but will start the final round at Valencia from the back of the grid.
The Marquez/Rossi war began on Thursday when Rossi accused Marquez of interfering with his race at Phillip Island and The Doctor said in parc ferme that he believed he was doing again today in Malaysia.
“On Thursday, Valentino Rossi surprised everybody after my victory in Phillip Island. I didn’t consider that because of my weekend, I was struggling all weekend. I know that I was struggling with a full tank at the start of the race but I know that the second half was my strongest point and my target was to fight with Jorge, Valentino and Dani,” said Marquez.
“Here I try to push at the beginning and yeah, we overtake many times and we were riding fast in one line. When he overtake me the first time, I try and follow him but I see I can be faster. Then I try to do my race, I overtake him and push to try and open some gap.
“We couldn’t find the best pace, when Valentino was in front, he was not very fast, his laptime was one high, two low and I felt I was able to ride even faster.
Going into turn 14, Rossi moved Marquez wide, slowed down and looked across at the reigning world champion, contact was made and Marquez went down.
“You can see on the TV I turn in, I heard the Yamaha was coming and I pick up a litle bit. Then he was there with a straight bike and what I didn’t expect was him to throw the leg and catch my handlebars and front brake. Then I locked the front.
“For me, it doesn’t matter who is Valentino and who is another rider. This kind of incident means you are out of control, you know. When you are there, you arrive, you know what is going on, you take all the road and push the rider out.
“This battle cannot go any further as we have already arrived at the point where one rider kicks the leg.”
