Bancaja Aprilia's Bradley Smith has said he will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to win the penultimate MotoGP 125cc race at Sepang this weekend and started well by setting the quickest time in free practice one.
The Oxfordshire youngster set a 2'14.895 with his final effort, which was good enough to keep Marc Marquez and team-mate Julian Simon, who is the new world champion, in check.
"I'm really happy with the result of this first session. We've worked hard and we're leaving no stone unturned because we want to go out and win on Sunday. I would have liked to have had a couple more laps at the end because I was just starting to enjoy myself," said Smith.
"There wasn't much grip out there today and that showed in the lap times but I'm sure it will improve tomorrow. All in all we've made a good start and we don't have any major problems to fix, just a few small things that we'll work to try and iron out tomorrow. We also want to try and do something like a race simulation to see how the tyres respond."
