MotoGP Sepang winner Dani Pedrosa believes there are too many grey areas in the Grand Prix regulations and that it needs to be tightened up following the incident with Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.
After a question from Italian media personality and rider manager Carlo Pernat about wether Rossi should have been immediately black-flagged or given a ride-through penalty, Pedrosa said the rule book needs a shake up.
“There are many opinions today. I think the rule book is grey. There are many grey areas in this rule book and you never know how to judge it. In the case of F1, immediately they know who is wrong and who is right but whether it is good or bad, the rule says this so you must stick to the rules,” said Pedrosa, speaking at the post-race press conference which Rossi missed.
“In our rule book, it is very grey. We see some stupid actions in Mot2 and Moto3 where they finish the race but are still crashing and they don’t realise when they are young, but when they come to MotoGP, it is a bigger problem to fix.
“In my opinion, the rule book should be more concrete on what is right and wrong. In many points, we have to make the book better.”
