Monster Yamaha's Cal Crtuchlow has heaped praise on the Racesafe marshals whose actions more than likely saved him from a more serious injury as Marc Marquez' RC213V came close to hitting them all at Vale corner.
Crutchlow had slipped off in morning warm-up and was just gathering himself as Marquez had the same crash on cold tyres and his Repsol Honda flew into the gravel trap and hit the stricken YZR-M1.
"The marshals did a fantastic job and we said afterwards that a lot of marshals around the world could learn from their example. They had one guy watching the track while the others were picking it up and I have never known that," said Crutchlow, speaking at Silverstone.
"And if it wasn't for that, four guys would have been hammered, including me. They did a great job, really. But it shows how dangerous it is as they were standing at my bike, and his bike hit it. My first concern was that everyone was ok and that Marc was ok as he was holding his shoulder. I told him to get on the first scooter back as my leathers were ripped open again and I was over it."
Marquez was given two penalty points on his licence for not paying attention to yellow flags, which he says he didn't see.
