Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi will continue using the new chassis he debuted at the Brno MotoGP test after confirming his feelings at Silverstone today but may ditch the swingarm upgrade as it hasn’t made any big steps.
Rossi performed two back-to-back tests in free practice today and said he has continued with the good front-end feeling he found in the Czech Republic but wouldn’t be drawn on how the new frame is different than the old one.
“Like in Brno, I have a good feeling when I brake and I like the feeling of the bike also on the bumps and also for turning is OK. Is nothing very big, is just a small modify that work but it improve the front end,” said Rossi, speaking at the track.”
The Doctor will more than likely discard the newer swingarm as it has not brought him substantial improvements, so will more than likely move back to an earlier version.
“The swingarm is also trying to improve the stablity under acceleration and more grip but in the past when we have a new swingarm, I feel more difference when I ride the bike with this one I confirm my feeling in Brno that it is very similar so I don’t know if we continue to use tomorrow.”
When asked whether the new chassis was more flexible at the front, Rossi giggled and said: “I don’t know.”
