MotoGP points leader Joan Mir is ready for a fight at this weekend's Valencia MotoGP round after a 'disappointing' podium last time out at Aragon.
Mir has a 14-point lead over Fabio Quartararo with 75 left on the table with team boss Davide Brivio saying the Ecstar Suzuki squad is focusing on grabbing more podiums.
“Last time out I was actually slightly disappointed with third place, only because I felt I had the potential for more. However, my goal was the podium and I managed to achieve that," Mir said.
"In general, I’m feeling good at the moment and I’m ready to fight at Valencia, which is a nice track that I’m familiar with. It will be good to get back on track on Friday morning for a new race weekend.”
Mir is on the brink of history as Suzuki haven't won the blue riband title since Kenny Roberts Jr 20 years ago.
