Esponsorama Ducati's Johann Zarco topped the final MotoGP free practice at a wet Valencia this morning, opening a 0.736s gap over Maverick Vinales with Taka Nakagani in third.
But it was again bad news for Fabio Quartararo who still can't find any feeling with the front end of his Petronas Yamaha in the wet as he finished second last and 3.2s off the pace.
Zarco picked up the session lead with a 1'41.113 on medium Michelin wets all round and then dropped to a 1'40.735 before knocking off a further chunk to end on a 1'40.007.
Britain's Cal Crutchlow hopped into second with his last run on a best of a 1'41.285 but he was punted down to fifth as Vinales put in a 1'40.743 for second and then LCR Honda's Nakagami moved from fourth to third with a 1'41.071.
Pecco Bagnaia found a lap from nowhere to end in fourth but 1.186s slower than the pace-setter on a Ducati one year newer than the Frenchman.
Miguel Oliveira ended as top KTM, putting in a 1'41.352 after leading early on while Repsol Honda's Alex Marquez launched himself into seventh ahead of Valentino Rossi who took part in his first session of the weekend.
The Doctor posted a 1'41.642 for eighth with Alex Rins and series leader Joan Mir, both on Suzukis, completing the top ten.
In terms of qualifying two, nothing has changed since yesterday's drying second practice with Pramac Ducati's Jack Miller ruling the roost and Vinales missing out but he starts from pitlane after taking a sixth engine.
