The end of the MotoGP summer break is marked with the British Grand Prix for the second year in a row. For Moto2 rider Jake Dixon, it means an opportunity for redemption after a messy Silverstone weekend in 2023.
Dixon went into the 2023 summer break off the back of a maiden Grand Prix victory at Assen in the final race before the season pause. However, the Silverstone weekend never got going for the British rider, qualifying down in 11th before crashing out of the race in an incident with Darryn Binder which led to one of the more memorable post-race TV interviews of the year, for which Dixon later apologised.

"I am looking forward to race at home," Dixon said ahead of the 2024 British Grand Prix. "I face this week with a totally different mentality than in 2023. The home GP is generally a stressful week, but I am going to try to focus one hundred percent on what happens on the track and on being able to complete a great weekend.”
Dixon's CFMoto Aspar teammate, Izan Guevara, has not yet hit Moto2 with the same kind of impact that, in Moto3, led him to the 2022 world title. According to Guevara, his summer break hasn't been a 'break' at all. “During this three-week break I have not stopped training, there have been no holidays," said the #28.
Silverstone was scene to Guevara's breakout ride in his debut 2021 Moto3 campaign, as he fought for the podium and ultimately finished fourth, his best result before winning the Americas GP a couple of months later. "Silverstone is a track that I have always been good at," Guevara said, "although I have never managed to get on the podium there. I will try to fight in the front group and be competitive.”
