VR46 Ducati reveals much different 2026 MotoGP livery

Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Ducati team has revealed its 2026 MotoGP livery in an event in Rome.

VR46 has revealed its livery one day after the Pramac Yamaha team kicked off this year’s MotoGP launch season.

The official Ducati satellite squad was also the last-placed of the Ducati teams in 2025, finishing third in the teams’ championship and almost 200 points behind Gresini.

Its rider line-up for Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio is unchanged from last year. Di Giannantonio remains on up-to-date Desmosedici machinery, while Morbidelli keeps his year-old equipment.

The livery itself is similar in some ways and different in others, which is to be expected. The fluorescent yellow remains, as could be assumed considering Rossi’s association with the colour, but it is supported now by a black base colour rather than the white of the past two seasons. It’s still definitively VR46, but it marks a significant change of look and tone from the previous couple of years of the Pertamina partnership, and harks back almost to the years it spent with Mooney as title sponsor.

As always, it has been designed by Aldo Drudi, who designed all of Rossi’s iconic helmets through his career and has continued his collaboration with the nine-time world champion into his team ownership phase.

VR46’s 2026 MotoGP season will begin in Sepang in February when the Malaysian circuit hosts the first official test of the year on 3–5 February. A second test will then take place in Buriram, before the Thai Grand Prix kicks off the season-proper on 27 February – 1 March.
