Joan Mir and Honda were able to secure their best result together since 2023 as he finished seventh at the Aragon Grand Prix.
The Aragon Grand Prix marked an important weekend for Joan Mir and the Honda HRC Castrol squad as they claimed their best result since the 2023 Indian Grand Prix.
Mir was able to take his Honda RC213V to a seventh-place finish at MotorLand Aragon and was able to fight with Ducati and KTM riders during the Grand Prix.
"It went good, nothing strange happened during the race," Mir told MotoGP.com after the Aragon Grand Prix.
"I could complete all the laps, I was fighting with people, they were clean fights, and it was nice. I was able to show a bit of the pace that we had during the Practice sessions, and I was able to be strong.
"It is true that fighting with the others, something is still missing; we are missing a bit on acceleration, and our top speed is a weak point at the moment.
"We have to make a step if we want to fight harder, but we have to be happy with seventh position. It is not a position in the past that I would have been happy with, but nowadays, yes, I am happy with it.
"Hopefully, we can build from this and in the future races we can do something more."
Despite securing his best result of the season, Mir is not done yet and is still seeking more from Honda. The 2020 MotoGP World Champion is hoping that this positive weekend can continue their development further towards the front.
"We improved a lot, but the reality is that we are here to do more," he explained.
"We always want to do more, it is not enough for me or for Honda. But realistically without anyone missing and no crashes in front, we are seventh, so that is positive."
