Marco Bezzecchi was back to winning ways with a dominant showing at the 2025 season finale in the Portuguese Grand Prix.
On Saturday, Marco Bezzecchi was able to claim pole position in the Qualifying session, but was not able to back it up in the Sprint Race in the afternoon.
The Italian could not fight with Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta on Saturday afternoon and ended up in third place in the Sprint Race. However, after making changes, Bezzecchi knew he could fight for victory as soon as he got out on the track for the Warm-Up session.
"It was a super good one, they have been two super good days at Silverstone and here," Bezzecchi said to TNT Sports after winning the Portuguese Grand Prix.
"They are different emotions, of course, but in any case, they are both super special. I am very happy to make this performance today.
"Yesterday, we managed to do super good to make a step after the Sprint, as I realised I was not in the game. We tried to understand and to work, and I analysed everything to try to make a step. This morning, when I went out on track, I knew that I could fight."
The 26-year-old was able to utilise his pole position and was able to control the pace from the front and was able to secure his second Grand Prix victory in dominant fashion.
Bezzecchi explained: "After the Warm-Up, I came into the box and said, ‘We made the right moves, now it is on me. Leave everything like this on the bike, and I will try my best to fight for the podium or the win’.
"Fortunately, I was able to start from the front, which was super important because then I could decide the rhythm, so I pushed a lot. Alex [Marquez] was close, but then he dropped off a bit, so I decided it was time to push more."
