Yamaha MotoGP team gets oil change for 2012

Yamaha's factory MotoGP team has had an oil change over the Christmas, losing the support of Malaysian firm Petronas but gaining Japanese brand Eneos.

Eneos, which was last seen on lots of rillion horsepower Nissan GTRs complete with scantily-clad dorises (or is that dorii?), is a brand of the massive JX Nippon company so won't be short of a bob. But, as the stout chaps at Motomatters.com point out, it is also orange - a bit like Repsol is orange…

Petronas, meanwhile, have said they loved the profile of MotoGP and Yamaha but the partnership had come to a natural conclusion. "We have enjoyed the benefits of strong brand exposure through the privilege of being associated with a team that shares our values and passion," yawned boss Mohammad Medan Abdullah.

Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis probably didn't say: "Kerchingggggggggggg".
