The latest reports from the World Superbike paddock suggest that Danilo Petrucci will be a BMW rider in 2026.
After recent meetings at Balaton Park with the Barni Spark Racing Team, Ducati bosses, and bosses from BMW, Danilo Petrucci has reportedly made a decision for 2026.
The latest reports from GPOne suggest that Petrucci and his manager, Alberto Vergani, have reached an agreement with the German manufacturer for the 2026 World Superbike Championship.
This new deal will see Petrucci end a three-year relationship with the Barni Spark Racing Team and Ducati in the World Superbike paddock.
During this time, the Italian rider, team, and manufacturer have won three races together and claimed 17 further podiums together.
Petrucci has been searching for a spot at a factory team for the 2026 season, and after being notified that he was not under consideration for the factory Ducati seat, he began searching elsewhere.
With Toprak Razgatlioglu's departure from BMW, the Munich-based manufacturer has been searching for a rider to lead the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team into the future.
The bosses at BMW identified Petrucci as their ideal candidate to replace Razgatlioglu, and appear to have got their man for next season.
Ahead of his move away from the Barni Spark Racing Team, Petrucci will now be aiming to solidify his third place in the Championship standings.
