Magny-Cours WorldSSP Race One Results | Nicolo Bulega takes his tenth victory of the season

Gold and Goose

Nicolo Bulega extends his Championship lead in the World Supersport class as he thrashes the field at Magny-Cours.

Nicolo Bulega started from pole with home hero Valentin Debise and Raffaele de Rosa alongside him on the front row.

Bulega is WorldSBK bound and the race today showed exactly why. The World Supersport Champion elect grabbed the hole-shot and never looked back. The young Italian has been superior throughout the season as he claimed his tenth win of the season today at Magny-Cours.

Fellow Italian rider, Stefano Manzi, crossed the line in second place. After a difficult start to the weekend Manzi found some form throughout the weekend and solidified his second place in the WorldSSP Championship.

Valentin Debise crossed the line to claim a heroic home podium at Magny-Cours. This was the French riders first podium in his World Supersport career and he sent the home fans into a frenzy at Magny-Cours.

Speculation surrounds Adrian Huertas for where he will be riding next season. But the young Spaniard put that to the back of his mind for the opening race of the weekend as he finished fourth place on his Kawasaki.

Niki Tuuli finished as the top Triumph as he crossed the line to claim fifth place in the opening race. The Finnish rider has had a strong weekend and backed it up in the race.

The second best Ducati at Magny-Cours was Yari Montella who finished sixth. The Italian rider qualified in fifth place and had a good start to the race, but dropped back as the laps ticked down.

The top MV Agusta was Marcel Schroetter who had been fighting all weekend after losing some top speed after the MV Agusta's got limited after Most. The German rider finished in seventh place, a lot lower than he is used to in World Supersport.

Federico Caricasulo was the final Ducati rider inside the top ten as he dragged his Althea Racing machine to eighth place. Five seconds ahead of Turkish rider, Bahattin Sofuoglu, and the former Moto3 Champion, Lorenzo Dalla Porta.
