Toprak Razgatlioglu maintained his momentum to head up the timesheets on the opening day of WorldSBK action at Most, the 2021 WorldSBK Champion leading a Yamaha 1-2 from Remy Gardner.

Following the damp conditions of FP1, a dry track in warmer temperatures allowed for more representative lap times with Razgatlioglu rising to the summit with just under ten minutes of the session left to run.

HIs effort of 1m 32.367secs around the Czech circuit wouldn't be bettered, though Razgatlioglu - a double race winner last time out at Imola - was run close by Yamaha stablemate Remy Gardner, the satellite GYTR GRT rider ending the day only +0.012 adrift in second.

In third place, Danilo Petrucci headed a quartet of Ducatis on the privateer Barni Panigale in third, followed by factory Aruba.it Racing riders Michael Ruben Rinaldi and WorldSBK points' leader Alvaro Bautista in fifth and seventh respectively, sandwiching Motocorsa's Axel Bassani in fifth.

Despite being one of a handful of riders to come down during the session, Dominique Aegerter remained inside the top ten in eighth, with Brits Scott Redding and Jonathan Rea flying the flag for BMW and Kawasaki brands in ninth and tenth.

Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark also suffered falls during the session, the latter failing tp set a representative time after getting out of shape at Turn 10 before being bounced off his BMW, while Eric Granado was transferred to the medical centre for checks after he too fell.
