Scott Redding is targeting a return to the sharp end of the WorldSBK hierarchy as he gears up for his third season within the BMW fold, his first with the sister Bonovo Racing team.

The 2020 WorldSBK runner-up shifts to the German marque’s satellite operation alongside Garrett Gerloff this season after ceding his seat to Toprak Razgatlioglu in the ROKiT BMW factory line-up.

It comes in the wake of a sobering campaign second year on the works BMW M 1000 RR, one that consigned him to only a pair of top five finishes and 14th in the overall standings.

Nevertheless, Redding - having already spoken of his anticipation at the arrival of 2021 WorldSBK Champion Razgatlioglu -  says he feels ready to get back to his best with regular top five and podium challenges.

“The team is great, very welcoming, very family orientated”, admits newcomer Scott Redding. “I feel like it’s old-school style, and that’s something that I really cherish.

“I will be more relaxed, happier. I would like to be top five, top six in the Championship, minimum.

“And to be on the podium more regularly, that’s what I’d be happy with. If I get a race win, I’ll be ecstatic, but we need a couple of podiums, that’s the goal.”
