Yellow flags cost Toprak Razgatlioglu a new all-time lap record at the Autodrom Most, but he will start from pole position.
During World Superbike Qualifying, Toprak Razgatlioglu was able to claim pole position at the Autodrom Most.
However, after the session, he was left fuming with the yellow flags that were shown, which cancelled his best lap, which would have given him a new all-time lap record of the circuit.
There were yellow flags being shown at the final corner of the circuit, which cancelled multiple riders' best lap times. But the two-time World Superbike Champion could not understand why the yellow flags were still being shown.
"I am happy with this lap time, but I am really angry with the yellow flags in the last corner," Razgatlioglu told TNT Sports.
"I am very angry because I did not see anybody there, I did not see a bike, no marshals, yet the yellow flag was still there.
"Then I saw the 1:29.7, which was a new track record, last year, I was trying to do a 1:29; this year, I did it, but there were yellow flags.
"My biggest target for Qualifying was to get a 1:29 because last year I was not able to get it. Maybe next year I will get it if I stay here."
Despite his anger, he will start the first two races of the weekend from pole position on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK machine.
So far at the Czech Republic World Superbike Round, Razgatlioglu has been unbeatable. The Turkish rider has topped all four sessions during the weekend, and it looks like it is his weekend to lose.
Razgatlioglu could do with a positive weekend as he sits 34 points behind his title rival, Nicolo Bulega, in the World Superbike Championship. This weekend, Bulega is also riding wounded after suffering a huge crash during Free Practice One on Friday.
