WorldSBK has completed its first in-season test of 2024, with Nicolo Bulega ending both days as the fastest rider.

Bulega topped Day 1 with a 1:40.304, and bettered that by over one-tenth-of-a-second on Day 2 with a 1:40.172. Toprak Razgatlioglu was the closest challenger to Bulega, as BMW's newest signing put in a 1:40.199 late-on on Day 2 to end the test second-fastest.

Danilo Petrucci was third, ahead of the second satellite Ducati of Go Eleven's Andrea Iannone, while Jonathan Rea headed a Yamaha 5-6 ahead of Andrea Locatelli. Sam Lowes was seventh, ahead of Michael van der Mark, Alex Lowes, and Michael Ruben Rinaldi who completed the top 10.

2024 WorldSBK Barcelona Test, Day 1

WorldSBK is holding its first in-season test this week at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. Nicolo Bulega topped the first day's running.

The Race 1 winner from Phillip Island, and reigning Supersport World Champion, was 0.7 seconds clear of his Aruba.it Racing Ducati teammate, Alvaro Bautista, who has won each of the last six races held at the Catalan circuit, and ended the day third.

Toprak Razgatlioglu was the fastest non-Ducati, the BMW rider ending the day in second place between the two factory Panigales, while Sam Lowes on the satellite Marc VDS V4 R was fourth.

Jonathan Rea was fastest in the morning but ended the day in fifth place as he looks to make progress on the Yamaha R1, while Remy Gardner on the GRT Yamaha was sixth. Danilo Petrucci was at the head of a pair of satellite Ducatis in seventh and eighth, the second of the two being Michael Ruben Rinaldi. Garrett Gerloff was ninth, and current WorldSBK points leader Alex Lowes was 10th.
