Jose Antonio Rueda will start the British Grand Prix from the back of the grid after impeding Angel Piqueras.
On Saturday at the British Grand Prix, Jose Antonio Rueda qualified on pole position, but his starting position has now changed after further review.
The Moto3 World Championship leader impeded Angel Piqueras at the end of the session, which destroyed the Spaniard's best lap time.
After the MotoGP Stewards reviewed Rueda and Piqueras' incident, it was deemed that Rueda was 'riding significantly more slowly on the racing line at Turns 15, 16 and 17, without checking for, or avoiding to disturb, riders behind you.'
As a result of his actions, Rueda will now start the British Grand Prix from the back of the grid.
"On 24th May 2025 at 14:29:26 during the Qualifying 2 session of the TISSOT GRAND PRIX OF THE UNITED KINGDOM, after posting a personal best lap time, you were observed to be riding significantly more slowly on the racing line at Turns 15, 16 and 17, without checking for, or avoiding to disturb, riders behind you. This action disturbed the lap of riders #28 and #36."
"Following the Penalty Protocols established by the Stewards Panel, this action is deemed to be in the category of: Slow riding in Q1, Q2 and disrupting another rider. Taking into account the specific circumstances of the offence, and as a first offence for the season, the appropiate penalty in this case is back of the grid penalty."
As a result of Rueda's penalty his Red Bull KTM Ajo teammate, Alvaro Carpe, will now start from pole position for the first time in his Grand Prix career.
