Results from the race at the 2026 MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
Pedro Acosta took a historic first MotoGP win at the Austrian Grand Prix. It was also KTM's first win since Thailand 2022.
Acosta started poorly, dropping behind Marco Bezzecchi and Ai Ogura on the first lap to fifth place.
But he recovered well from there and was quickly behind Jorge Martin as they pulled away from Bezzecchi in third.
Acosta made his move to the front on lap 10 and quickly opened up a manageable margin. In the end he won by a second, seeing out the latter part of the race in relatively comfortable fashion.
Martin took second place. He was under pressure from Bezzecchi in the final laps but made no mistake and gave his teammate no possibility to make a pass.
Bezzecchi himself took yet another third place. He lost ground at the start and seemed to be slipping backwards, but regrouped after half-distance and closed back in on Martin and Acosta, but just couldn't find an opening.
Similarly, Ai Ogura was fast at the end of the race, but couldn't get close enough to Bezzecchi to make a pass for third. The Japanese took fourth in his first race back from the thumb injury that kept him out of Aragon and Misano.
Marc Marquez looked to be on the charge to the podium in the early stages. He dropped back on the opening lap to fifth, but had just passed Ogura for fourth when he ran wide at turn 10 and gave the place straight back. He then lost out to Brad Binder and Fermin Aldeguer, but was able to recover those two positions before the finish to take fifth.
Binder, meanwhile, was sixth, ahead of Francesco Bagnaia and Fermin Aldeguer. Aldeguer crossed the line seventh, but was given a long lap penalty after the race which dropped him to eighth.
Fabio Di Giannantonio and Johann Zarco completed the top-10.
