The opening session of the weekend saw home hero and Championship leader, Stefano Manzi, set the pace.

The World Supersport Championship leader, Stefano Manzi, set the pace on Friday morning in the Free Practice session. The Italian led the way on the Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing Yamaha R9 by 0.07 seconds.

Jaume Masia ended the morning in second place on the Orelac Racing Verdnatura Ducati Panigale V2. The Spaniard was Ducati's top rider on Friday morning at their home circuit.

The only other Yamaha rider inside the top ten on Friday morning was Can Oncu. The Yamaha bLU cRU Evan Bros Team rider ended the session in third place, 0.210 seconds behind Manzi.

Bo Bendsneyder was the top MV Agusta rider in Free Practice as he ended the session in third place for the MV Agusta Reparto Corse squad.

Completing the top five was Valentin Debise on the Renzi Corse Ducati Panigale V2. The French rider was 0.474 seconds behind Manzi's best lap time at the end of the opening session.

The final rider inside the 1:37 lap times was Filippo Farioli; he was also the second MV Agusta rider inside the top ten.

Jeremy Alcoba was the only Kawasaki rider to feature inside the top ten for the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team.

The remainder of the top ten was completed by Ducati riders as Marcel Schroetter was in eighth on the WRP Racing machine, Federico Caricasulo was in ninth on the D34G Racing machine, and Xavi Carrdelus completed the top ten for Orelac Racing.
