Casey O'Gorman completed his Moto3 World Championship debut at the Red Bull Ring with an 18th-place finish.
At the Austrian Grand Prix, Casey O'Gorman made his debut in the Grand Prix paddock with SIC58 Squadra Corse in the Moto3 World Championship.
The Irish rider was able to make his debut in the series as a replacement rider for the injured Luca Lunetta and will continue with the team at the Hungarian Grand Prix next weekend.
But at the Red Bull Ring, the 18-year-old completed a solid weekend with an 18th-place finish in his first Grand Prix for the Italian team.
"18th in my first world championship race," O'Gorman said on social media.
"Where do I even start? This weekend has been an incredible experience for me and a lifelong dream fulfilled. I enjoyed every lap of the race, although it was so long. We have many positives to take away from this weekend. My last laps were very competitive with my best lap being on the last lap, so the potential is there, most importantly, I kept the bike upright all weekend, improving and learning every session
"Now one more chance at Hungary, a level playing field where no one has been, and I will give it everything there.
"Thanks, SIC58 Squadra Corse for this opportunity and everyone who made this experience so special, and all my sponsors and fans for always supporting me."
