Jorge Martin ended the Hungarian Grand Prix in fourth place, which was his best result as an Aprilia Racing rider.
Despite a poor showing in Qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Jorge Martin was able to bounce back and finish the Grand Prix in the top five.
The Spaniard started the Grand Prix in 16th place and was able to carve his way through the field and crossed the line in fourth place, which is his best result as an Aprilia rider.
"I feel good, I feel fantastic, I am learning every lap with this bike, everytime I feel more comfortable," Martin told MotoGP.com after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"Even on the starting line, I was still changing the handlebars, so I am still in that process. Anyway, starting from 16th was not easy; I had to overtake a lot of riders during the race.
"I felt really consistent; my fastest lap of the race was on lap 18, I think. At some point, I noticed that Marco was coming closer to me, and I tried to catch him, but I decided it was better to finish fourth.
"We have gained some more experience, and now we will keep going."
Across the weekend, a lot of riders commented on the lack of overtaking opportunities at the Balaton Park Circuit.
However, the 2024 MotoGP World Champion explained how and where he was able to pass his competitors during the Grand Prix.
"I was really optimistic during the weekend, I saw a lot of different places to overtake," he explained.
"At the first corner, I was able to overtake seven riders, and every lap I was able to overtake someone. I think that corners four, five, and nine are good spots, so I used them all the time to make some moves.
"It was a fantastic race, I enjoyed it a lot, it was a bit long because it is a physical track, but I feel good."
Martin went on to explain that despite taking his best result as an Aprilia Racing rider, he is still not looking at positions, as he is still learning to understand the RS-GP.
"I am not really looking at positions at the minute," he stated.
"For sure, it was a nice race, and I learnt a lot, but I still need to understand this bike in terms of Qualifying.
"But we are taking the right steps."
