Manuel Gonzalez will remain in Moto2 after being overlooked by MotoGP teams

Gold & Goose

Manuel Gonzalez could become the first Moto2 World Champion to remain in the class since Johann Zarco in 2016.

The 2025 Moto2 World Championship leader, Manuel Gonzalez, will remain in the intermediate class with the Liqui Moly Dynavolt IntactGP Team.

For his fourth season in Moto2, the Spanish rider joined the German team after two years with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team and a year with Gresini.

However, after 14 race weekends in the 2025 season, Gonzalez has won four races and has featured on five further podiums.

"This year has been amazing so far, fighting for wins and podiums, leading the championship," Gonzalez said.

"I’m super excited to continue working with this team. It has been a really good journey, and we will keep pushing our 100 per cent one more year."

Gonzalez was linked to a ride in the MotoGP World Championship for the 2026 season and got to experience a MotoGP machine, as he tested the Aprilia RS-GP with Trackhouse Racing.

However, this test on the Italian machine did not lead to a solid deal for next season, as the American team has retained Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez for next season.

Gonzalez was also linked to the LCR Honda squad for the 2026 season, but after Diogo Moreira reportedly signed for the satellite team, the Spaniard was then overlooked by Pramac Yamaha.
