Alex Marquez will have a factory specification Ducati GP26 next season after an impressive 2025 campaign.
After his best MotoGP season, since moving into the class in 2020, Alex Marquez has been rewarded with a factory-spec Ducati for the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.
The Spaniard has been Marc Marquez's closest rival throughout the 2025 season, and has won two Grands Prix and featured on seven further Grand Prix podiums. As well as a Sprint Race win and 11 further Sprint Race podiums.
Alex Marquez finds himself second in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship standings and believes he can have a positive 2026 season with the new materials.
"I am super happy, super happy for me, super happy especially for the team, I think they deserve it," Marquez told MotoGP.com.
"You can see the history with Gresini and Ducati, they do an amazing job every year. Every year, they get some wins in the races, so they deserve it. This year, my results helped to get this bike for next year.
"Nadia [Padovani, Team Manager] helped me a lot, and she was pushing a lot to have the factory bike. So, thank you to Ducati, and Gigi [Dall'Igna, Ducati Corse General Manager] especially, because he made this real.
"We have all the materials to make the 2026 season a good one, but first of all, we need to finish this season in a good way."
With the factory specification Ducati GP26, Alex Marquez will have more work to do in the pre-season MotoGP tests, as he will be involved in the development of the new machine.
"For sure it will change our approach during all of the tests, because we will have more things to try and work with," he explained.
"We will have double the work. This year, the tests were super easy; we were just trying to extract the performance, but I like that work, to try things and to help Ducati improve.
"It will be a really good opportunity for me and the team, and we need to extract the potential from that."
