MotoGP Japan, Qualifying Results | Francesco Bagnaia will start from pole position at Motegi

Francesco Bagnaia set a new All-Time Lap Record at the Twin Ring Motegi as he claimed his second pole of the season.

Despite suffering from mechanical issues ahead of his pole position lap, Francesco Bagnaia was able to smash the All-Time Lap Record at the Twin Ring Motegi and secured his second pole position of the season.

At Honda's home race, Joan Mir was able to put his Honda HRC Castrol RC213V on the front row of the grid with a second place in Qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The MotoGP World Championship leader, Marc Marquez, will start a crucial weekend from the front row of the grid on the factory Ducati after qualifying in third place on the grid.

At the head of the second row of the grid is the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team rider, Pedro Acosta. The Spaniard had an issue at the start of Qualifying and only got one run during the session, and secured fourth place on the grid.

Fabio Quartararo was able to get Yamaha a second-row starting position at the Japanese Grand Prix. The Frenchman was the only Yamaha rider in Q2 and qualified in fifth place on the grid for the Monster Energy Yamaha squad.

Franco Morbidelli will start from the rear of the second row on the grid in sixth place on the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team Ducati GP24.

The second Honda rider inside the top ten was the Honda HRC Castrol rider, Luca Marini. He was unable to match his teammate but will start from seventh place on his factory RC213V.

In the middle of the third row on the grid is the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider, Alex Marquez. The Spaniard came through Q1, but was unable to match Bagnaia and his brother in Q2, and will start from eighth.

Marco Bezzecchi ended the opening day of the weekend at the top of the timesheets, but in Qualifying, he could not match the Ducati riders and will start from ninth place.

Completing the top ten on the grid was the Trackhouse Racing Aprilia rider, Raul Fernandez.
