'On paper, it looks like it can be a good weekend' - Jack Miller believes Yamaha will work well at Mandalika

Jack Miller has high hopes for this weekend's Indonesian Grand Prix based on previous years' results.

Jack Miller and Yamaha arrive at the Indonesian Grand Prix off the back of a disappointing Japanese Grand Prix last weekend.

The Australian rider failed to score points at Yamaha's home round as he failed to finish the Sprint Race and the Grand Prix at the Twin Ring Motegi.

But he is hopeful that the Yamaha M1 will work well this weekend at Mandalika with the 'decent grip' levels at the circuit.

"I am looking forward to getting amongst it, the track looks in good condition," Miller said on Thursday at the Mandalika Circuit.

"It is nice to be back in these temperatures, I enjoy these hot ones. I am keen to see how the Yamaha gets on around here. I think it could be a good track for us. There is decent grip in general; it is a new surface that does not get used that much, and the stones and so on are pretty sharp.

"The track always needs cleaning and rubber laying down, but in general, after a first inspection yesterday, the track looks pretty decent."

As well as the level of grip around the Indonesian circuit, Miller believes the layout of the circuit will suit the characteristics of the Yamaha.

"There is a decent average speed around here," he explained.

"You kind of carry the momentum, so I feel that can play into our hands more so than others. There are also some nice long corners in the last section, where our bike should behave pretty good at. So, fingers crossed for a solid weekend.

"I think it can be a good one for us. On paper, it looks like it will be a good one. From my understanding from previous years it can be a good one."
