However, testing for the 2026 MotoGP World Championship will begin with the usual three-day Sepang Shakedown, which will run from the 29th to the 31st of January.

The Shakedown Test will only be open to Test Riders, Rookies, and concession manufacturers, Yamaha and Honda.

This will be followed by the traditional three-day Sepang Test, which will run from the 3rd to the 5th of February. Unlike the Shakedown Test, the Sepang Test will be open to all manufacturers and riders.

Following the six days of testing at the Sepang International Circuit, the 2026 MotoGP season will be launched in Kuala Lumpur across the 6th and 7th of February.

The final two days of pre-season testing will take place later that month at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand. Across the 21st and 22nd of February, the MotoGP riders will have one last chance to decide on their package for the season.

The 2026 Championship will then begin with the Thai Grand Prix, which will run from the 27th of February until the 1st of March; this will kick off another 22-round schedule.

2026 MotoGP pre-season test dates:

SHAKEDOWN TEST: 29-31 January
SEPANG TEST: 3-5 February
SEASON LAUNCH: 6-7 February
BURIRAM TEST: 21-22 February
