After a dominant showing in the Sprint Race, Alex Marquez is hoping for more improvements ahead of the Grand Prix.
Alex Marquez was able to take his third Sprint Race victory of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship as he dominated at Valencia.
Marquez has had access to the 2025 Ducati fairing during the Valencia Grand Prix and has found himself struggling more than usual during the weekend.
However, after qualifying in the middle of the front row in second place, Marquez knew he could fight for victory in the Sprint Race. At the start of the race, Marquez capitalised on Marco Bezzecchi's poor start and was able to take the lead in the opening sector.
After he took the lead, the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider was not challenged and was able to end the 13-lap race in the lead after putting together a dominant performance.
Despite having over a second lead at the chequered flag, the Spaniard is still seeking further improvements ahead of the final Grand Prix of the season.
"I am super happy to win today," Marquez told the MotoGP World Feed after the Sprint Race.
"During all the weekend we have struggled a little bit, much more than normal. But today for the Sprint Race, I said, 'we need to win, we need to win'.
"I tried my best from the start, I attacked from the start, and I saw that the key was to put together our rhythm, save some tyre at the beginning and then push at the end.
"I controlled the gap in a really good way, and I am super happy. But I think for tomorrow we need to make one more step to be even stronger.
"But yeah, I am really happy."
