Suzuki rider adds two manufacturers to 2026 Isle of Man TT plans

Isle of Man TT

Yorkshire rider Joey Thompson has confirmed he will rider Aprilia and Honda machinery at the 2026 Isle of Man TT after previously confirming a Suzuki ride.

Thompson’s ride with the York Suzuki team for this year was only recently announced by the team for this year’s TT road races, but the 28-year-old has now confirmed additional bikes, having been confirmed at TH Racing.

For TH, Thompson will contest the Supersport class and the newly renamed Sportbike class, formerly Supertwin, at the 2026 TT road races. In Supersport, Thompson will ride a 2025 Honda CBR600RR, while in the Sportbike category he will race an Aprilia RS 660.

“I am so pleased to have put pen to paper this early on,” said Thompson.

“It really gives me time to focus and prepare for a very busy season with TH Racing.

“I would just like to thank the team for making me feel so welcome, and I cannot wait to get stuck in, especially now I feel I have my mojo back.”

A statement attributed to TH Racing reads: “We are delighted to have agreed terms with Joey for the 2026 season. Having worked with him in the past and more recently at the tail end of this season, we are fully aware of his pedigree.

“Having seen his transition to the CBR600RR and the RS 660 this season, it was very evident that he had what we wanted and we are very excited for 2026.”

The 2026 Isle of Man TT is scheduled to run from 25 May – 6 June.
