Senna Agius’ move to MotoGP for 2027 is the achievement of a “lifelong dream”, he says, having signed with Tech3 KTM.
Agius will move to the Tech3 team for next season to partner Luca Marini, whose contract was announced previously.
The Australian will step into the premier class at the same time as his compatriot, Jack Miller, is departing the grand prix paddock for a WorldSBK seat with Pata Yamaha.
Currently sat fourth in the Moto2 riders’ standings, Agius will step up to MotoGP having made his way to the world championship via the Moto2 European Championship, following in the footsteps of the likes of the aforementioned Marini and Fermin Aldeguer.
“A lifelong dream of mine has come true: reaching MotoGP,” said Agius.
“So many years of hard work have gone into this moment, and I'm incredibly grateful to Guenther [Steiner] and everyone at Tech3 for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I can't wait to repay their faith.
“I know the challenge ahead, but I'm ready to learn, work hard, and become the best version of myself with this team.
“A huge thank you to my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me and made sacrifices throughout my journey.
“I'd also like to thank every team, engineer, and mechanic I've worked with over the years – they've all played a part in helping me reach this point. I can't wait to get started and make everyone proud.”
