Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi will try a new engine during morning warm-up on Sunday at the Barcelona MotoGP race if the track is dry and everything else is 'normal'.
The engine, which is to be tested by Nicky Hayden tomorrow, has more bottom-end to help with acceleration but doesn't change the characteristics of the rest of the bike so massive setup changes are not required.
"I have the option but just for Sunday. We will decide tomorrow but we have to be aware of how many kilometres we have in the engines. If the conditions are normal I think we will try on Sunday," said Rossi.
"It is not a big issue, the new engine is to help with acceleration but it doesn't change the character of the bike so we can just try it in morning warm-up."
