Britain’s James Toseland has been given the all-clear to continue riding following a crash at Jerez this morning.
The two-times World Superbike Champion was highsided off his Tech3 Yamaha on the second lap of the session and has said it was a problem with cold tyres. X-rays at the Clincia Mobila have shown he has not fractured his ankle but has badly twisted it.
Toseland said that as he was about to exit pitlane, an engineer stopped him to make a last-minute adjustment. The bike’s tyre warmers were off so lost their temperature. He lapped slowly but the bike still spat him off on a closed throttle.
His manager Roger Burnett said that it was a lesson learned.
