Former World 500cc champion Kevin Schwantz is eyeing an official role with a Suzuki MotoGP team season, either within the official Rizla team or running a satellite team.

Schwantz, who was champion in 1993, has made no secret of his ambitions in the past and is a big fan of AMA Champion Ben Spies - who has been lined up to race the GSV-R800.

The Texan, who made the number 34 world famous, is currently working with the AMA Red Bull rookies in America, but has confirmed that Spies is to test the factory bike at Indianapolis and could well race there as a wildcard, and at Laguna Seca.
