Britain’s Bradley Smith has scored his second 125GP pole position of the season by the smallest of margins in Shanghai this morning. He was 0.028s ahead of Nicolas Terol but a full half a second in front of Frenchman Mike Di Meglio.
Fellow Brits Danny Webb and Scott Redding qualified in tenth (a second of the pace) and 24th (nearly three seconds shy of the leader), respectively.
Smith also topped the timesheets in this morning’s 125cc second free practice session in Shanghai. His Polaris World Aprilia was surrounded by a pack of Derbis but Smith managed to stay ahead of rival Mike Di Meglio by some four tenths of a second.
