DONINGTON MOTOGP: WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED

Donington Park bosses have rejected claims by Casey Stoner that aviation fuel leaked from planes passing over the track on their into or, indeed, out of East Midlands Airport is affecting grip.

The reigning MotoGP world champ brought up the subject during a press conference yesterday, saying the grip levels get worse every year and blamed it on overflying aircraft. Donington boss Simon Gillett said an inspection had been carried out which proved this not to be the case. He might have added that Stoner should run along and play nicely.

Carl Fogarty's criticisms that James Toseland doesn't have the heart to win MotoGP have been laughed off by the hometown hero. He said that Fogarty will saying anything to cause a bit of controversy. Toseland added that Fogarty was a good friend of his. Well, you can't have everything.
