15-year-old Scott Redding has taken a famous victory in the 125GP race at Donington Park this afternoon, becoming the first Brit to win hi shome GP win since Ian Maconnachie at Silverstone in 1986.
Redding crossed the line some six seconds ahead of second-placed man Mike DiMeglio after he pressured leader Andrea Iannone into a mistake through Cranver Curves with six laps to go. Redding then cruised home to win his dbut GP after only eight starts in the class.
Amazingly, Redding has never raced aronnd Donington until this weekend, and had only donehalf a qualifying session in the wet on a Metrakit bike some years ago.
Bradley Smith ended the race in 10th. He started well but slipped down the order while Danny Webb crashed out on lap one.
