So just who is this mystery money man behind the Donington Park project?
His name, depending on who you believe, is Paul White or Paul Wright and he is a property developer from the Leicester area of England.
He is allegedly a motor racing fan, a resident of Monaco and is reportedly worth more than £750 million. Now, call me an old fashioned cynic if you will, but don't we know someone else who is resident in Monaco, likes to hang around noisy single-seaters and is worth in excess of £750 million?
A good search of the Companies House website and a hell of a trawl around Google has turned up absolutely nothing about a Paul White (or Wright) that has even the remotest connection with property development, Leicestershire, Monaco or anything else...
It seems a strange co-incidence that this guy has appeared from nowhere, given Tom Wheatcroft a small fortune for his great racetrack and, suddenly, F1 is turning up there after Bernie Ecclestone told Silverstone it was shit.
We will be hearing next that Mr Wright (White) also owns a hotel in Gstaad and has a wife who is a) young enough to be his daughter and b) tall enough to be a able to keep an eye on his money from two continents away...
Are Bernie and Paul White (Wright) one and the same? I think the public should be told...
