British Supersport star Kevin Coghlan will double up on riding duties in 2012 after signing to ride for the Ducati Manchester team in the European Superstock 1000 series which runs alongside rounds of the World Superbike Championship.
The former Spanish Supersport Champion, who is part of the Appleyard Yamaha team while on domestic duty, will partner Russian Alexi Ivanov in the team which has previously won the Macau GP in 2002 with Michael Rutter. Coghlan has already tested the 1199 Panigale and found it 'really good, it handles and feels like a 600 but with obviously a lot more power, it’s a great bike and I can’t wait for the season to start'.
"We are excited to be back in the racing scene on a world level, we have invested heavily into our infrastructure and team and believe we have a very good chance of being competitive in the Superstock championship with the 1199 Panigale and the support we are receiving from Ducati UK and Ducati Corse," said Ducati Manchester director Chris Booth.
