PBM Kawasaki's Stuart Easton grabbed his first British Superbike podium since the North West 200 that nearly claimed his life a year ago and did so even with an arm problem that came on late in race three at Oulton Park.
The Hawick-born racer was lucky to escape last year's practice crash in Ireland and only after months and months of rehabilitation, and the promise of a job from current boss Paul Bird, did he finally take to the grid again at Brands Hatch over Easter.
"It's been a good weekend and I'm especially pleased to get my first podium of the season. I thought if I could make a break, I may be able to hold them off but as the race progressed, I started to fade as I'm still not bike fit," said the Scot.
"Over the last six laps or so I had a tight forearm and it meant I was riding a bit scrappy in places and was running wide. It is critical, but I know I am capable of podiums again so I want to be up there fighting as I am nearly there now."
