Silverstone MotoGP: Crutchlow 'unsure' of Tech3 future

Cal Crutchlow, this year's hottest prospect in MotoGP, is not certain what he'll be riding next year, questions the decision of his team to sign Bradley Smith and is critical of today's World Superbike riders.

On the eve of Britain's MotoGP weekend at Silverstone, Crutchlow confesses in today's issue of Bikesport News, at newsagents now, that he is talking to other teams including Ducati, as he does not know if he will have a berth in the Yamaha Tech3 garage.

"I'm looking elsewhere. Why they gave Bradley a ride I don't really know - you have to prove yourself to be in MotoGP. Obviously the ideal scenario is for me to stay with Yamaha ... but with Herve signing Bradley it is going to be difficult.

"I'm speaking to other teams and have opportunities to go to other teams. Casey's decision doesn't really us give any breathing space - I can go to other teams in the paddock. I am outperforming other guys in the championship."

Cal would like to see more British riders in MotoGP but struggles to see where they are coming from. "I can't see anyone coming through from Superbikes because the guys there were either not good enough for the World Championships or they are content to stay where they are forever.

"But I do hope they don't get stuck there forever. I hope we get fresh talent coming through, MotoGP needs it. And Brits can go fast, there is no doubt about that!"
