Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo is expecting a more powerful engine from the middle of this season in the hope he will be able to find some top-speed parity with Casey Stoner's RC213V.
Even though the Spaniard cruised to a win today, he had to wait until he was able to use superior traction before he could make a move and says an extra couple of miles an hour in a straight-line will help.
"I am happy I am able to fight for the win but maybe I would like to have a better engine. I think they are working on it and maybe in the middle of the season I will have it. I am happy with them and with the work but a little bit extra power will be fine," said Lorenzo, speaking to bikesportnews.com after the race.
"At the beginning, the Hondas have driveability and traction, and profit with all the power they have. When the tyres start to move, I don't lose so much on the straights but it is still a little bit. Three or four more kphs will keep them nearer on the straights."
