A rumoured combined rider and bike minimum weight limit could boost Scott Redding's Moto2 title hopes next year as he would no longer have to contend with lightweight competitors blasting past him on the straights.
Redding is one, if not the, heaviest riders in the class at around 87kg and has to contend with some others, including the departing Marc Marquez, who are upwards of 20kgs lighter than the Gloucestershire man on identically-powered bikes.
Dorna ringmaster Carmelo Ezpeleta is apparently considering imposing a minimum limit of 220kg (which includes leathers, lid, back protector etc) to even up the odds.
