Former MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner has confirmed he will drive in the Australian V8 series this year but will start in the lower Dunlop development series.
The recently-retired Honda man will race for the Triple 8 team in a car backed by his long-time sponsor Red Bull. His first test will be on February 16.
"Since I was 12, I've always been interested in it. It was always my plan during my whole career to drive a V8," said Stoner.
"It's now the new chapter in my career but I have to be realistic and see if we're capable of doing anything."
