Reigning National Superstock 600 Champion Lee Jackson has been awarded the Alec Wright Memorial Trophy in recognition for his grit and determination during the 2012 season.
The trophy, which is in memory of the legendary Team Green inventor Alec Wright, was given to Jackson after he 'rode with skill, determination and a professionalism that belied his tender years'.
“Too much is taken for granted these days and youngsters often expect something for nothing. Lee just goes to show that if you invest some time and commitment – as well as skill – then you will rise above the average," said Wright's son Colin, of whom some of you will have heard.
Jackson added: “I tried hard all year both on the track and in the paddock. If you present yourself in a professional way then you are a much better prospect for potential teams and sponsors. I am so proud to have won this unique award and feel honoured to be one of just three riders to have received it so far."
