Blusens Avintia Moto2 rider Kyle Smith says he isn't yet nervous about making his Moto2 debut at Qatar this weekend but believes it will kick in when he reaches the track.
The British-born Spain resident knows he has a lot of work to do over the coming season, which kicks off in the desert under lights on Sunday night, but cannot wait to get going.
"You can not even imagine how much I want to get to Qatar. Even though it seems unbelievable, I am not nervous - I guess that when I am there it will be another thing - but I can not wait to see the track, race on it and learn it," said Smith.
"I am aware that I have a lot of work to do but do not doubt that I will do it. Now I have everything. I am on a great team, I have the means and I am going to compete in the Moto2 World Championship! What more can I ask for? It is a great opportunity and now I have to put the rest. It will not be easy but I get to the first race with the confidence of the whole team, I am in a good shape and, as I have told you, I can not wait to start."
