Former British Superbike star Barry Burrell will race in the German IDM Superbike series after signing to replace Martin Bauer in the HPC Power Suzuki team.
Burrell had hoped to be able to find a seat in his own domestic series but after a run out at the Daytona 200, he has now decided to go to the German series after Bauer retired from racing after the first round.
The Bishop Auckland rider's first outing on the Superstock-spec GSX-R1000 will be a test at the Lausitzring later this week.
"It's regrettable that we have lost Martin Bauer for the Superbike IDM season, although I'm convinced Barry Burrell will be a powerful replacement," said Suzuki boss Thomas Hannecke.
