2014 RC213V could be available to race this year, say HRC

Repsol Honda's HRC technical director Takeo Yokoyama has said the prototype 2014 MotoGP RC213V could be raced this season if Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez like it enough.

The all-new, and by the sounds of it very expensive, bike was unveiled today at Motorland Aragon and Yokoyama said it would be finally ready for the end-of-season Valencia test. It rained at Aragon today, so Pedrosa and Marquez didn't get to ride it.

"This is the prototype of 2014 machine. It is a complete new bike, both in term of engine and chassis. Our plan is to test it now in order to be able to do, eventually, some change before the after race test in Valencia in November," said Yokoyama.

"Anyway, if Dani and Marc will find something in the bike that they really feel is a big improvement comparing with their actual RC213V, HRC will do its best to provide this already later this season as we already did last year."

Pedrosa used the 2013 bike halfway through last year after he preferred the new chassis to the existing one and went on a winning rampage with it…
